Three or four minutes later, a familiar fi gure rushed into my sight like an angel. She was wearing a white sports outfi t and a pair of black sports shoes. Her long straight dark hair fl uttered in the wind. She looked radiant. Her appearance was light and pleasant. She smiled all the way throughout the crossing. Her face was a curtain pulling open for sunrise. She called my name out loud, waving her hand. I waved back, smiling. We went straight for each other. She laughed. Her laughter was warm. She took my hand and led me into a tunnel-like market. We were too excited to start a proper conversation. The market was not big and not busy. Some of the sellers greeted her as an old acquaintance. She greeted them back with enthusiastic sincerity. “This is my young sister. She just came to see me today. What should I buy her to eat?”
